Research Interest

Current Research Interests

Currently, computing involves more sectors of the physical world. “Traditional computing” is now transforming into a new area where computer science, computational methods and Internet technology are interwoven with physical objects. Recent progress in science and technology will also make sensing, communication and computing more ubiquitous. As a consequence, the so called ‘Internet’ or ‘cyber space’ also penetrate physical world to obtain information about physical phenomena. People will be seamlessly connected to environments by means of ‘smart objects’ using Internet technology. This is so called Cyber-Physical System.

Currently, my research interest is in the field of Networked of Cyber-physical System, including:  Communication, Control and Formal Modeling of Cyber-physical System. Our research division focuses on three area of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). (1) The sensing and communication of cyber-physical system. We design network application and networking protocols for data collection from many heterogeneous nodes, including sensors and their interfacing system. (ii) The computation & data fusion. We analyze collected data to formulate models (formal models) to explain the physical phenomena (such as land vibration, vehicle speed, air quality, indoor temperature, human motion, etc) by using data analytics / data fusion. (iii) The control part. We utilize the formulated models to design applications to provide a closed-loop CPS by implementing intelligent control (such as using Fuzzy Logic Controller).
